22 MAY 2005 - Old Timers 11  -  Foreign Devils 10

Today's game at Enfield was between the Old Timers and an American Touring team. These guys had be re-enacting the World Tour of 1913-14 of the Chicago White Sox and the New York Giants. They belong to a group called Baseball International and the contacted me Jean Crook to see if the could play the O.T.B.C. as there England game. They arrived at Waterloo Eurostar on the 22nd at 13.30  pm and I escorted them by coach to Enfield. They are group of baseball fans who enjoy playing and watching ball. Like the Old Timers the average age was in the mid sixties. They said it was the best game they had and how much they had enjoyed themselves. They had travelled to Japan, China, Philippines, Australia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Italy and England. We had a very enjoyable time, the game was evenly matched, and the score was a great win for the O.T.s Afterwards we shared a picnic together. Photos of some of the game are on the pictures page. A big thank you to those players and supporters who came to the game. To those who couldn't come you really missed a good game and enjoyable afternoon with a crowd of very interesting and friendly people. A big thank you for those who made all the hard work a reality. JEAN

George made catch of the season when he ran towards right field for a Texas leaguer, the ball hit the back of his neck and as he turned round to find the ball it rolled over his shoulder and down his chest. After a quick juggling act the fly ball was caught !
