We knew it would be a tough game this Sunday and with several of our more experienced players unavailable we went into it full steam ahead. 4 runs in the first innings looked good but a few errors later cost us dearly and by the end it was 13-5 to Medway. However we had some hits with singles from Gary, Paul and George doubles from Paul, Brian Peter B, Ian and a HOME RUN from Justin we managed to tie the score in the 8th inning. However in the 9th they managed to score another run and the final score was Medway Mariners 14 Old Timers 13. Well done to all those there and for the excellent support from Justin’s family and friends.

Old Timers 24 V Romford 23
Today we played Romford as Medway Mariners not able to field a team. Nice to see John Turpin with Romford although think he makes a better Old Timer. Good turn out of players for Old Timers and our two new Timers Steve Lloyd and Billy Gibney. Steve Simmons had an excellent HOME RUN which brought home THREE runs, well done Steve. Thank you to John Dornin for umpiring did a good job. Well done to all who came, there were some errors but we enjoyed it. We wish a Happy Birthday to Colin and welcome to CATHY and Pat from the U.S.A, a couple who Colin Pete and Andy met on a baseball trip to Florida and Arizona. Thank you to all players and supporters for being there today and doing their best. Jean

Havering 16 V Old Timers 6
It was a tough game as many of our stronger players were unavailable and the Havering lads are faster, younger and more powerful hitters. We had three rookie players Billy, Steve and Andy, with back up from George, Steve Simmons, Mike, Gary Colin and John Thomas. They did very well and played 7 innings. Final Score was HAVERING 16 Old Timers 6. A big thank you must go to Dan Long for volunteering to do the umpiring from behind the mound. Final game of season next Sunday at Guildford.
